Crystalens Intraocular Lens Implant
An estimated 10.5 million Americans over the age of 40 have cataracts. Unlike a standard intraocular lens implant, the Bausch & Lomb Crystalens intraocular lens implant gives a fuller, more natural range of vision.
The Crystalens intraocular lens implant replaces patients’ cataracts and provides some amount of flexibility. Many patients can see in the distance as well as some intermediate and near vision due to the flexibility.
The Crystalens intraocular lens implant may allow you to have a more natural range of vision; more likely to provide clearer vision for reading a book, working on the computer, and driving a car than a standard intraocular lens implant, which has no flexibility. In this way, the Crystalens intraocular lens implant attempts to mimic the young human lens inside of the eye and functions more like a natural lens.
The first and only FDA-approved accommodating intraocular lens implant
Uses the natural focusing ability of the eye
Only FDA-approved presbyopia correcting IOL for cataract patients that provides a single focal point throughout a continuous range of vision
Further Crystalens Review:
88.4% of patients implanted with a Crystalens could see better at all distances than 35.9% of patients implanted with a standard intraocular lens implant.
Most patients have continued to report excellent vision 7 years after implantation with the Crystalens. More than 200,000 Crystalens intraocular lens implants have been implanted worldwide, and that number is growing daily.
The Crystalens accommodates like the natural lens. After implantation of the Crystalens, most patients will see brighter and clearer across a wider range of distances more like they did when they were younger.
