Allegretto Wave laser technology for Hecht Eye Institute patients

Torrance ophthalmologist Dr. Hecht uses the Allegretto technology for his Marina del Rey, Torrance, and Beverly Hills patients. The Allegretto Wave laser is one of the first lasers in which patients reported a reduction in post-operative glare. The Allegretto Wave Laser is also quite impressive with its pupil tracking abilities.

The Allegretto Wave laser has been successfully used in Europe since the late 90s, where it has been the leader in international sales for the past three years. In the U.S., it was the first new laser platform to be approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in nearly five years. That clearance was for the highest-ever ranges of nearsightedness and farsightedness.

The Allegretto Wave laser is:

• Fast and efficient
• FDA-approved
• Accounts for the cornea’s natural shape

No other conventional LASIK treatment takes into account the exclusive curve and slope of a person’s cornea. “We can now provide a more consistent surgery over the entire treatment area, not just in the center,” Dr. Hecht says.

Equipped with all these proven advantages, the Alllegretto Wave laser is one step closer to optimal laser vision correction.

Features of the Allegretto Wave laser:

• Vision accuracy, total control
• Superior performance
• Excellent clinical results
• Safe with PerfectPulse Technology
• Smart energy control
• Eye tracking technology
• Speed

Allegretto Wave laser: High performance vision

The Allegretto Wave laser is capable of producing some of the largest available optical zones. The optical zone refers to the portion of the cornea that has been corrected by the laser. A larger than normal optical zone is especially important for night vision and for patients with very large pupils.

If a patient’s pupil is larger than the optical zone, they may experience less sharp peripheral vision than if the optical zone is larger. Better night vision and less “halos” and glare may result from larger optical zones. The larger optical zones have improved patients’ vision.
